Train for Military In-Custody/Corrections

MILO Range simulators are designed to help military corrections officers performing UCMJ combatant detainee, EPW/prisoner, internment and resettlement operations practice the skills required in internment and corrections environments, before they’re necessary. By providing a flexible, scalable, and immersive environment for trainees to practice preventing and engaging disruptions in prison and prisoner transportation settings, military instructors can create tailored lessons to ensure correction officers new to the unit are able to train to standard with the equipment necessary to prevent security and correctional inmate incidents from further escalating. Regardless if the prison is for civilian or Armed Forces detainees, MILO provides scenarios for the correctional officer to train within Geneva Conventions guidelines, ensuring civilian and prisoner remain safe and performing duties within their obligation.

Those responsible for combat or home station internment/resettlement and day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility can safely train and hone their skills in MILO simulation without the need for role players. Scenario-based training provides an adaptive environment for teams to become familiar with rules of engagement and prisoner handling skills in a place designed to learn from mistakes and improve their knowledge.

Developed in collaboration with corrections and detention center experts, the military in-custody and corrections content includes full representational fidelity and simulates scenarios dealing with law of war, rules of engagement, and detainee operations. Trainees have the ability to train within a simulated prison facility and practice humane treatment of EPWs by engaging as individuals or as a team and learning how situations can escalate if handled incorrectly, helping achieve the necessary brain recall required to perform in a split second when there is no time for anything other than trained reflex action.

Advanced Training Solutions for Skill Mastery

MILO simulators are instructor-controlled, with full audio/video capture and advanced logging, debriefing, and scenario developmental tools. Scenario applications for in-custody and corrections can be made more intense and challenging (or eased off) at any time, before beginning the scenario or while running it. Our simulator solutions provide a sensory-rich environment, designed to mimic real-world environments and situations that military members are likely to encounter.

MILO’s trainee-centered after-action debriefing process actively engages officers and NCOs in mining each of their sessions for every teachable moment and opportunity for reflection. Trainees learn by seeing how they appear on camera before, during, and after shooting and are able to use that information from the AAR to modify their reaction and improve proficiency when they do it again.
