Immersive Simulations for Police Taser Training

The MILO Taser® training solution is built on the same high-definition simulation platform as MILO (an immersive, interactive single or multi-screen simulation-based training system), with scenarios designed to help officers practice the specialized strategies and tactics that come with using electronic control weapons (ECWs)—sometimes called “electronic control devices” (ECDs), or “electroshock weapon” (ESWs). These less-lethal options allow police officers to train for situations in which they can avoid the use of their gun. More importantly, MILO police taser® training solutions create an emotionally immersive role-playing environment. Every system comes with a standard library of scenarios and can also be expanded to include custom scenarios to meet the training demands of your agency and community. TASER AND ESW SIMULATION DEVICE OPTIONS

MILO-based taser training solutions use actual CEWs—including the popular X26P and the X2 models from Axon (formerly Taser International)— as well as older models no longer supported by Axon, such as the X3 and XREP. These modified CEWs have removable training cartridges and standard taser batteries, preserving the heft and feel of active electronic control weapons. The HD video scenarios reflect the realities of using a taser in the field, including accurate representations of the full range of reactions a suspect might have in varying circumstances: heavy garments, poor probe contact or placement, being under the influence of controlled substances, etc.

Throughout every scenario the instructor can make adjustments to hone their student’s judgment and skills. Scenarios can be run in interactive low-light/flashlight conditions, alone or with multiple officers. Each taser or ECW device can be assigned a unique ID, to individually track and score each participant.
